Green... Acre ?

"Why not check out the finger lakes ?" my stepdaughter Nora said, when she knew we had started our house search in earnest.

Hmm, yes. Why not ?

And so began a year long, driving-intensive exploration of the central 'upstate' New York area south of Rochester, where wine is king, and the villages (towns to a PA native) have populations in the low 100s.

The before picture to the right is one of three outbuildings on the property we settled on. Daunting ? Yep.

Dubbed the Kennel Barn, this will be the most challenging renovation of the three.

Here we go. This is going to be fun.
